=======================================================================
Note: This is a duplicate of a bug entry at the sourceforge site of
xCAT2 (ID: 2784002 ).
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1006945&aid=2784002&gro
up_id=208749
Additional configuration files are attached to the bug list. Normally I
would not post twice,
But this is how I understood the comment on the xCAT2 website.
=======================================================================
I am trying to install xcat2 on a Fedora 9 server:
My system is a 64 bit intel machine:
[root at mnode X11]# uname -a
Linux mnode.craycx1.ballard.priv 2.6.27.21-78.2.41.fc9.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon
Mar 23 23:22:15 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I followed the xCAT2.x installation guide (release 04/16/2009) up too
step 2.1.21., but the installation test with the following error
message:
> Connection failure: IO::Socket::SSL: SSL connect attempt failed
because of handshake problems error:14094418:SSL
routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:tlsv1 alert unknown ca at
/opt/xcat/lib/perl/xCAT/Client.pm line 139 }}}
I have attached the output of the original yum installation to this
report.
I have taken the following steps to resolve the problem:
* Activate xcatd bypass mode but no effect.
* forced reconfiguration
> [root at mnode X11]# /opt/xcat/sbin/xcatconfig --force
Now I get the following error message:
> [root at mnode X11]# tabdump site
> ERROR/WARNING: communication with the xCAT server seems to have
been ended prematurely
But activating the bypass mode helps:
> [root at mnode X11]# export XCATBYPASS=1
> [root at mnode X11]# tabdump site
> #key,value,comments,disable
> "xcatdport","3001",,

> "nameservers","10.2.4.200,172.30.7.195,172.30.7.196",,
After a bit of digging I found that my conserver is not running
properly:
> [root at mnode X11]# /etc/init.d/conserver restart Starting conserver:
[Wed Apr 29 13:59:54 2009] conserver (12810): conserver.com version
8.1.16 [Wed Apr 29 13:59:54 2009] conserver (12810): started as `root'
by `root'
>/bin/bash: line 1: 12810 Segmentation fault /usr/sbin/conserver -o
-O1 -d
> [FAILED] }}}
My ssl configuration is as follows:
> [root at mnode X11]# rpm -qa | grep -i ssl | sort
docbook-style-dsssl-1.79-5.fc9.noarch
> mod_ssl-2.2.9-1.fc9.x86_64
> nss_compat_ossl-0.9.4-2.fc9.x86_64
> openssl-0.9.8g-9.12.fc9.x86_64
> openssl-devel-0.9.8g-9.12.fc9.x86_64
> perl-IO-Socket-SSL-1.18-1.fc9.noarch
> perl-Net-SSLeay-1.32-5.fc9.x86_64
> qca-ossl-2.0.0-0.4.beta3.fc9.x86_64
The network ports are active, but I can't connect to them:
> [root at mnode X11]# netstat -nap |grep xcat
> tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:3001 0.0.0.0:*
LISTEN 14412/xcatd: SSL li
> tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:3002 0.0.0.0:*
LISTEN 14414/xcatd: instal
> udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:3001 0.0.0.0:*
14413/xcatd: UDP li
Is there any way to correct this problem ?
Thank you very much for your help.
