The ethernet renumbering is a pain. It has been discussed to death on the
NPACI ROCKS mailing list (they have same problem), with no solution.
I suspect it is not just kernel driver that matters, probably anaconda plays a
role too, esp if there is mix of types (intel , broadcom), driver loading
order etc. When the system boots up from HDD post-install, anaconda is not
active so the order is the "natural" order that Linux would take.
You may also notice that different distros come up with different sequence (to
add to the confusion)
