commands

... this error comes from the ipmi.pm hardware management plugin. There
one can find that it stands for the error code "0x82".
I could not find more information there, but it seems as if the right
plugin is choosen and all that works.
Maybe its an issue with the management processor? Is it too busy or is the
connection not working or properly set up?
Unfortuatelly I do not know more to say here...
Wish you the best ;-)
Mit freundlichen Gr¨¹?en / Best regards

Re: [xcat-user] "No slot available for given user" when running xCAT

Yes, it should be rsetboot. But in this case, the commands are not the
problem. The problem is, whatever command (hardware control command) you
run, it will always report "No slot available for given user". For an
example, when running rpower, it report the same problem:
[root at e326n02 ~]# rpower e326n05 stat
e326n05: No slot available for given user

For BMC-based servers like the e326, you want to use rsetboot. The
rbootseq command is for blades. I know it is a little confusing, and we
should clean this up sometime, but the man pages do clarify which command
is for which server types.

[xcat-user] "No slot available for given user" when running xCAT commands
Hi, All:
In the cluster, I have two nodes, one is the management node - e326n02,
the other one is the compute node - e326n05;
I have installed xCAT-2.0 on the management node, and tried to install one
SLES system on the compute node - e326n05.
and the details of "e326n05" are:
++++++++++++++++
Object name: e326n05
arch=x86
bmc=e326n05bmc
chain=install
cons=ipmi
currchain=boot
currstate=install sles-x86-compute
groups=ipmi,compute,all
initrd=xcat/sles/x86/initrd
interface=eth0
kcmdline=autoyast=http://172.20.3.31/install/autoinst/e326n05
install=http://172.20.3.31/install/sles/x86/1 netdevice=eth0
console=ttyS0,19200n8r
kernel=xcat/sles/x86/linux
mac=00:11:25:C4:7A:C8
mgt=ipmi
os=sles
profile=compute
serialflow=hard
serialport=0
serialspeed=19200
xcatmaster=e326n02
++++++++++++++++
WHEN I use some command to access the compute node - e326n05, there are
some error message. For example:
++++++++++++++++
[root at e326n02 ~]# rbootseq -n e326n05 n,f,h,c
e326n05: No slot available for given user
++++++++++++++++
I don't know why "e326n05: No slot available for given user". Can anyone
give me some advice? Thank you very much!
I use IPMI interface to access the BMC of e326n05. And the user/password
that I used is the default value: username = USERID; password = PASSW0RD.
Best Regards,
Min Jun, Xi(ÛÃö¾ü)
